Scott Shaw, Sexton
The man, the myth, the legend. Scott has served as Sexton of St. Matthew’s since the late 1980’s. He knows every nut, bolt, knob, switch, and valve at both our downtown campus and Churchfield campus. Why? Because he’s probably replaced them at least once during his tenure. Scott’s philosophy: they don’t make 'em like they used to!
Christian has served as our Assistant Sexton since the summer of 2023. In addition to his duties as Assistant Sexton, he is a chorister in the parish choir. Outside of church, he is a custodial supervisor at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he hires, trains, and leads student workers for Physical Plant Services. He is from Bethany, WV. He is a 2011 graduate of West Liberty University where he was a music major. He resides in St. Clairsville, OH with his wife, Megan Fliess-Keener. His hobbies are collecting books and Star Trek memorabilia. He is known for his love of a good single malt scotch, a fine cigar, and spending quality time with his cats.
